We all do the best we can. Of course we do. But how the kids turn out is, to a huge and frightening extent, like so many other things out of our control. And sometimes, I believe, out of their control. Luck.

A grandmother’s love—I like to think that this is how God feels about each one of us. How God feels about you. In the Church, we call it grace.

The Resurrection demonstrates that ultimately
suffering love is more powerful than hatred,
forgiveness is more powerful than violence,
life is more powerful than death.
Love wins.
